Give pizza night a delicious twist by using a box of Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix as the crust. This approach is surprisingly simple, quick, and full of flavor. I wanted pizza but didn’t have time to make a traditional crust, and when I saw the biscuit mix in the pantry I decided to experiment. The result was a crispy, savory crust that paired perfectly with classic pizza toppings. It’s become a go-to option for busy evenings and a fun way to change up family meals.

What Toppings Can Be Used?
You can top this Cheddar Bay Biscuit Pizza however you like. The biscuit crust works well with many combinations — from simple pepperoni and sausage to more adventurous ideas. Our family usually keeps it straightforward with Italian sausage, pepperoni, and jalapeños, but taco-style toppings, seafood blends, or a veggie-forward combination would all be excellent choices. The biscuit crust adds a garlicky, buttery note that complements both traditional and creative toppings, so feel free to experiment.
What Is Needed to Make It?
- 11.36 oz box of Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit Mix
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese (to mix into dough)
- 2-3 tablespoons oil for spreading dough and greasing the pan
- 4 tablespoons melted butter
- Seasoning packet from the biscuit mix
- 14 oz jar pizza sauce
- 3–4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Pizza toppings of your choice (sausage, pepperoni, jalapeños, etc.)
How To Make It

Prepare the biscuit dough according to the package directions, adding the water and shredded sharp cheddar when instructed so the dough becomes slightly sticky and flavorful. The cheese folded into the dough enhances the crust’s texture and flavor.

Oil your hands and a rimmed 10×15-inch baking sheet, then spread the sticky dough evenly across the pan. The dough can be very tacky, so adding a little oil to your hands as you go will make it much easier to shape. You can also grease the pan well or use parchment paper to minimize sticking and simplify cleanup.

Mix the melted butter with the seasoning packet from the biscuit mix and brush the garlic-butter mixture over the dough. This step gives the crust that distinctive Cheddar Bay garlic flavor.

Prebake the crust at 425°F (220°C) for about 8–10 minutes, either in a conventional oven or on a covered grill. Prebaking is essential to prevent a soggy crust once you add sauce and toppings.

After prebaking, spread the pizza sauce across the crust, add the mozzarella and your chosen toppings. I like a classic combination of sauce, mozzarella, Italian sausage, pepperoni, and sliced jalapeños, but you can customize it however you prefer.

Bake again at 425°F for another 8–10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and lightly golden. Make sure the crust has crisped through—if it needs a couple more minutes, watch it closely to avoid burning. Once finished, let the pizza rest for about five minutes to allow the crust to set and the toppings to settle.
